Guin - a city in Marion County, Alabama, United States. In the 2000 census the population was 2389. July 13, 2010 the citizens voted Guin to become the first city in Marion County, starting with the ban, to allow sale of alcohol.
April 3, 1974 Guin was devastated by a tornado F5 during outbreaks Super second largest tornado outbreak on record. The death toll was 30 in Guin, who at that time amounted to 11% of the population.

Gu-win - a city in Marion County in the U.S. state of Alabama. In the 2000 census the population was 204.
The unusual name of the city taken from parts of two neighboring towns, Guin and Winfield. "Gu-win" and "Guin" is not the same, although the speech - in fact the same, leading to occasional confusion by visitors.

Marion County - County U.S. state of Alabama. Marion County was created by an act of the Alabama Territorial General Assembly on 13 February 1818. The county is located in the northwestern part of the state, bounded on the west of Mississippi. It covers 743 square miles (1920 km2). Marion County was named for Gen. Francis Marion of South Carolina. The administrative center was established in Pikeville in 1820, and moved to Hamilton in 1881. Marion County could be considered a "mother county" Alabama counties Fayette, Lamar, Walker and Winston County and parts of Mississippi, Itawamba, Lowndes, and Monore. Significant city in the county include Brilliant, Guin, Hackleburg, Hamilton, and Winfield. Since 2010 the population was 30 776. County - prohibition or dry county, however, the sale of alcohol is permitted within the City of Guin.
